Jennifer Ellis Walters, LCSW, received a Bachelors in Social Work from James Madison University and a Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University. Ms. Ellis has worked in hospitals, mental health agencies and school programs providing psychotherapy services to individuals, families, couples and groups. Ms. Walter’s approach is humanistic and interpersonal with a strong focus on strengths, family systems, and a psychodynamic understanding of a person’s condition as well as the social/interpersonal context. Ms. Walters also has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She utilizes creative methods including experiential learning and expressive therapies.
Ms. Walter’s experience includes work with individuals suffering from anxieties, depression, mental illness, and adjustments to life changes, losses and traumas. Jennifer focuses on helping clients and caregivers to better understand strengths and limitations, more effectively communicate and better cope with life stressors and losses.
